I am guilty of using too much colour, so this was my attempt at restricting myself to a few colours. I also painted this in a burst of inspiration that had to be released in that moment. So any unsuspecting old painting or canvas was in the firing line. As you may see from the textures in the background of this painting, there is something else going on underneath the surface. In fact there could well be 2 or 3 paintings underneath this one. I quite like this because it not only washes away work that I am not happy with, it also creates random interest and textures that can't be pre-planned.
