I have always been inspired by the colour and movement of schools of fish, and at times have thought that my colours were too pretty, and intense. But a recent photo sent to me by a boating friend of a school of fish off the back of his boat showed me that the real life colours were in fact brighter, bolder and more electric than I had ever been game to paint. So, that photo has encouraged me to pour as much pure, bright colour into my fish paintings. "Electric Blue" is the first painting after seeing that photo, and it is aptly named.
